My wife and I moved to North Dorset from my native Leicestershire in 2021, and quickly realised that this wonderful part of the world, especially our lovely, friendly village Motcombe, would be our forever home.
In fact, before we moved, a chance conversation with a lovely artist in the Cygnet Gallery convinced us that we should buy a house here, and so we did!
I am a landscape artist, and prior to our move, found inspiration in the wild, rugged and beautiful landscapes of Norway, where our son and family lived.
Now my inspiration is much closer to home.
My work is highly detailed and realistic, but with the occasional excursion off piste!
I studied Art at college in Nottingham in the early 1970’s and taught Art for many years. I also ran my own Graphic Design company back in the day, which I guess had an impact on my fascination with detail and realism.
My original oil paintings are quite large and my main focus is on displaying prints of them. They are high quality giclee prints, sourced from the best fine art printer I can find.
They are printed on high quality, acid free paper, and mounted by myself using acid free conservation quality mounting board.
They are all limited editions of 100, with some exceptions, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
They are available either in mounts only, or as framed pictures. The differential in price reflects the costs involved in framing.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work.
